Before becoming Maison Hanadouraku, the boutique was known as Art & Fleurs.
Located in Verrières-le-Buisson, just outside Paris, Art & Fleurs was founded in 1987 by Luc and Claire Bartlet.
For over 36 years, they dedicated themselves to their craft with passion: Luc as a Master Artisan celebrated for his technical expertise, and Claire with her uniquely artistic sensibility.
Their boutique was cherished for its warm atmosphere, fully hand-crafted creations, and deep respect for the seasons. More than just a flower shop, Art & Fleurs became part of the local community, accompanying clients through life’s most meaningful milestones.
It is this place, simple yet profoundly human, that we chose to reimagine as Maison Hanadouraku, honoring its heritage while infusing it with our own vision and fresh energy.
After 36 years as Art & Fleurs, the boutique in Verrières-le-Buisson becomes Maison Hanadouraku.
Our vision is to bring this space to life with a distinctly Japanese floral aesthetic, rooted in emptiness, balance, and wabi-sabi. In contrast to the “European” style embraced by many Japanese florists, we wish to offer a different perspective.
Maison Hanadouraku was born from this desire: to create a place where two floral cultures meet, with both simplicity and depth.
The name comes from our Tokyo boutique, Hanadouraku (花道楽), and from the French idea of a Maison: a living space, rich with history.
For those who knew Art & Fleurs, this Maison remains yours, carrying a new sensibility yet the same warm welcome.
Hanadouraku is the flagship boutique of our floral company, founded in 1990 in Kōenji, Tokyo, as a division of the Kanidouraku Group. Now based in Kōjimachi, Tokyo, it has become the creative heart of our work in Japan and internationally.
More than a florist, Hanadouraku is a hub of floral design.
For over 30 years, we have been creating arrangements for weddings, hotels, restaurants, window displays, and brands, placing floral art at the heart of the client experience.
Our parent company, DEFLAX, develops several brands united by a single vision: to explore the infinite possibilities of flowers by combining design, emotion, and culture.
It is in this spirit that we are opening Maison Hanadouraku in France, to share Japanese floral aesthetics in a new cultural setting.
